NORA (North Atlantic Cooperation) has announced a grant of 150.000 DKK to a new research on a new research project called Backmovers or Tilbageflyttere. The objective of this project is to look at backmovers (people that have moved back to rural areas) and find out what motives were for their migration. The reserach area covers selected rural areas in Iceland, Faroe Islands and Norway. The project is managed by The Icelandic Seal Centre and executed by Per Åke Nilsson a joint staff member of The Icelandic Seal Centre and Hólar University College. Per Åke did a similar research in Sweden in 1988.
