The objective of our seal research department is to conduct comprehensive research on seals in Iceland. Our main research area is Vatnsnes Peninsula and the inner Húnaflói Bay area, where a large number of harbour seals can be found in a relativele small area.

The head of our seal research department is ethologist Sandra M. Granquist. Sandra is a joint staff member of the Icelandic Seal Centre and the Institute of Freshwater Fisheries.
