In the final weeks of 2009 I was getting quite convinced that we would suffer some budget cuts from the state. Therefore you can just imagine my relief when I saw that our funding was NOT cut at all in the 2010 budget laws. This means that in stead of pulling back we can continue to charge ahead, developing our activities, creating employment and increasing scientific knowledge in our area.

Our offices moved between Christmas and New Year. I said goodbye to Brekkagata 2 with a bittersweet heartache but I´ve been very comfortable there even though it was quite lonely the first years. I also have to admit that it was getting pretty crowded and my office was almost below zero on the coldest days, even though I tried to keep my toes warm with a small hot-air oven under my desk. Our new offices are quite the luxury and the staff is suffering from open space mania due to last well over Easter. Sandra hasn´t return from her Christmas Holiday in Sweden though so she will probably be a bit surprised when she sees she got the broom cupboard, sorry Sandra :)
