Markmið ferðamálarannsóknasviðs Selaseturs Íslands er að afla rannsaka náttúrutengda ferðaþjónustu á Íslandi í sem víðustum skilningi, með sjálfbæra þróun greinarinnar að leiðarljósi. Einnig kemur deildin að byggðarþróunarrannsóknum.

Sviðinu er stýrt af Per Åke Nilsson ferðamálafræðingi, en hann er sameiginlegur starfsmaður Selasetursins og Háskólans á Hólum. Listi yfir útgefið efni Pers Åke má finna hér að neðan.
